Playoff Tiebreakers

Does anyone know how Madden determines playoff tiebreakers?

Prior to the advance I thought I was in a "win and get in" scenario for the last wildcard spot as the Colts have one more Conference win than the Broncos and have better H2H against common opponents (4-0 v 3-1). Broncos are now listed above in current standings. Anyone any ideas?


I've got a worrying feeling it could be alphabetical sometimes...

That's "just Madden being Madden". It's always listed in a somewhat random order when teams have the same records but the final standings should reflect the correct order.
Although there's still discussion and uncertainty if Madden actually applies the correct tiebreakers. But if you've got the better record against common opponents with minimum of 4 games (which I'm not entirely sure is applied as the first tiebreaker in Madden) AND the better conference record, there shouldn't be any doubt.

Madden applies NFL tie-breakers. The only problem is occasionally (i can only remember this happening once in dozens of seasons where it was wrong - M14 or 15 i think). So i shouldn't worry too much.

Well I've done my bit! Now to put Madden to the test.
