SML Draft Day
Come what may earthlings, but only some things are guaranteed in life: Cookies NEVER fit in your glass of milk, no-one can ignore a donut, Eternal's soul segment trades to Lucifer, Kookiano's annual conditional trade agreements and, the big one, NO-ONE wants to end up on the wrong side of my Draft Day CRAPCLAP Awards!
Mulling over the SML Times this morning with my bacon and Jack D, i couldn't fail to notice that there appears to have been more movement in this season's first round than a Falcons scoreboard. At my last calculation, it seems there are only 14 picks in the 1st and 78 in the 2nd. Now, i'm all for strategic manoeuvres and applaud the gusto some HC's approach this particular tactic with, but be careful here. The last thing we need is Eternal and Warrior picking up top 10 studs at the bottom of the first or there will be much Scoop fury, of the 'Hell hath no' type. So, i'll take a machete to your thicket of confusion and advise caution when dealing picks as this is one of the quickest routes to score very highly in the Crap Awards.
I have often been criticised by confusing SML coaches, mainly by the use of good grammar, but i will give you a few tips on where the best value rookies are likely to be.
1) Strong QB class at the top end
2) Lot of fast HB's, but only a couple of top guys
3) Potentially great DE's and WR's will go outside of the first round
4) LB, like QB, will be popular in the first
5) Lot of busts in the first
Is it possible to mistake schizophrenia with telepathy, i hear you ask (think about it)? Well, for the doubters amongst our ranks, i am yet to be wrong in a SB prediction, albeit mainly thanks to ET and his voodoo posse, so use the information as you choose and pay very close attention to No.5 on the above list.
I've also been monitoring Instagram (i thought this was a really efficient drug dealer) and note the excitement for this draft is as unnatural in the eyes of God as contact lenses, which is always great to see. Therefore, i will wish you all safe passage through the post draft Awards and remember, always give 100% (tricky for blood donors) and try and tune out all of the useless stuff you hear - just like i do when listening to U2, just to take The Edge off.
Happy hunting in today's Star Wars - or to put it another way, the Wookiee Dwaft!

Re: SML Draft Day
I think there are only about 5 surefire prospects. Rest of the class can be duds just as well as studs.

Re: SML Draft Day
Great read as always. Would love to see Scoop do a first round mock draft like he's done before.

Never seen so many elite OL in one draft. Going to be hell getting to some QBs next year, especially with that patch improving blocking for elite linemen.

Someone doesn't want his prospect to fly off the board, huh?xxeternalxx wrote:Never seen so many elite OL in one draft. Going to be hell getting to some QBs next year, especially with that patch improving blocking for elite linemen.
