Question concerning team take-over
Hi,
So I'm the new owner (or coach) of the Browns. I have some minor questions, which I did not find in the threads - so maybe they are somewhere and I just have not seen them (I'm sorry!), so please just guide me there.
1. How is the sim rule with contracts interpreted? I have inherited about 12M cap penalty for this and next season and some really stupid contracts (e.g. CB Roby 5Y/115M) no one in the NFL would give to players. Maybe it has not that much of an impact, because there will be only 2-3 seasons left, so the old owner just gave huge contracts?
2. Does anyone know if I get the scouting results from weeks 1-7 from the old Browns owner? Otherwise my first draft could be interesting
3. I think I can re-sign up to 5 players in free-agency. I have seen the old Browns owner could not agree to terms with 3 or 4 players to re-sign, but did he re-sign anyone already, so I have maybe only 3 or 4 others left? Or do I start from beginning?
Thank you!!!

Re: Question concerning team take-over
Hi Para.
The previous owner did indeed hand out some very high contracts as the Browns had a lot of cap space. They were done in Free Agency.
As for previous owners scouting info - i don't think so. One of the other guys will confirm that.
If you go into transactions for Browns, you will see who has been re-signed - but regardless, Brza will confirm how many you can sign dependant on what's already happened.

Re: Question concerning team take-over
1. The only rule for contracts is that they cannot be longer than 5 years unless the player is specifically asking for a contract longer. If he is then you just need to take a screenshot of his demands and PM them to me on PSN. Roby was a highly sought after free agent and the bidding got out of control.
2. No, there is unfortunately no way to pass on scouting results or SP from one owner to the next. I wish EA would add this as an option because it does make it difficult for new owners/coaches joining during the season. I'm sure when the draft rolls around some people will be willing to give you some additional info about certain prospects if you ask though.
3. Yes, you can re-sign up to 5 players if the Browns haven't already re-signed people. I or you will have to look in the transaction log on PS4 to see who was already re-signed by the Browns. If they already re-signed players that you don't want then I can edit their contracts down to one year so you can still sign 5 other players. Just let me know.

Thanks for the information! Ok, I will try to manage the cap space and maybe have some decisions in the offseason, but will work somehow

Re: Question concerning team take-over
OK, I got some results from the old owner. I think he did not scout every week, but I have some results, so that will work.
I have seen there were no re-signings, so that's OK too.
I have just one question left. Can someone tell me how many seasons we still expect in Madden 17? I just want to know how I should handle the cap space for future seasons. Or do you all play strictly sim style with cap space too and try to handle it like the game would continue for years..? Would be great, but I doubt it
Thanks!

Re: Question concerning team take-over
We usually get 4 good seasons, this is season 3, we have tried 5 before but I'd guess 4 seasons.

Re: Question concerning team take-over
Perfect, thanks!
Now I have just one last question. Maybe I'm too stupid to find, but who has been the No 1 pick in the last draft? I can only find the No 2 pick, but there is no No 1 pick?

Re: Question concerning team take-over
I think Big Jim picked first with Houston - QB Catapano

OK, then Daddyleague is just one pick off (there is Catapano No 2) - ok, thanks for the clarification!
