EARLY SEASON THOUGHTS by Scoop McLeak Empty EARLY SEASON THOUGHTS by Scoop McLeak

Post by Scoop_McLeak Sat Jul 14, 2012 6:05 pm

Most teams have played 3 or 4 games now and we can start to see a picture forming. I thought it would be a novel idea to jot down what has caught my eye in this, the final M12 season thus far in the legendary SML Europe.

Coach Afro made the following plea "lets go easy on the new guys and look after each other". Nice thought Coach, new bra and panties being FedEx'd to Baltimore as we speak courtesy of the same anti contact sport movement that gave us "No blood allowed in football" and the classic "Tackling is illegal" articles!

Some mumblings around SML that Buffalo HB C.J. Spiller is the most under-rated back in the league. Some mumblings around C.J. Spillers' house that the Buffalo O line is the most over-rated in the league.

Dolphins' nuclear linebacker Cameron Wake was overjoyed when new coach Musevenyyy was installed in the off-season, as he's sick of carrying the team. After 3 games and 2 defeats guess who's carrying the team with 15 tackles and a sack ................. Watch out for HB Cobie Ross though, he's the closest thing to a certain HB outside of Minneapolis i've seen.

We've already had the SML's version of 'Rumble in the Jungle' as the defending AFC champion Chiefs visited New England in week 3. Coaches Ryso and Pastinator squared off as memories of Ali versus Frazier came flooding back as the 2 HC's hurled abuse and pulled faces at each other from the sidelines. The obscenities ceased as a game broke out, which the Chiefs won 28-7 prior to the contest being abandoned early in the 3rd due to the insults running out and Afro not being there ........ Please God, pair these 2 together in the playoffs!

The World Champion Minnesota Vikings are sweeping all before them as they romp to a 4-0 record and the new Mayor of Minnesota Vince Jackson has already caught 5 TD passes. Interesting that some teams are having a degree of success passing against the purple people eaters ...... and rumour has it Chicago have a new playbook that focuses on ... surprise, surprise ..... passing.

The Texans have a real tough first half of the season as they play Titans, Eagles, jets, Colts and Ravens and will likely be needing a strong finish to make the play-offs. The big question surrounding the former champs is 'who throws the int's?'. Will it be Schaub or Davius Clayton. Rumour has it 3rd stringer Brandon Lloyd has a shot. M13 cant come quick enough for Houston!

Back to Afro's comment about looking after the new guys - Coach Soxy has been bitch-slapping all comers so far, problem is he IS a new guy!!! So, maybe we should introduce a new rule for new Coaches - dont be so damn f***ing good! Coach Soxy has decided to up sticks and take over his beloved Colts so the Vikes/Bears stranglehold on the NFC is likely to continue. LT - you're next up for the Soxy Express!

Poor old Pastinator - after getting into fisticuffs with the Pats he's proved last second losses are a speciality. After the classic SB IV implosion KC managed to lose to LT's Titans in the last seconds yet again. Choruses of "can we play you every week" rang out from the small band of Tennessee fans as the Arrowhead faithful headed for Psychiatrists-R-Us!

OSS's new QB has had a massive impact for the Raiders and is just shy of 1000 yards after only 4 games. The 2-2 Raiders still struggle on the ground but Vick has established a surprising new relationship with TE David Ausberry - what a couple!

The Cardinals surprised everyone (including Pooky) as Kendall Hunter rushed for 226 yards against a strong Bolts team. Maybe the San Diego defence should not have played a 1-1-9 defensive formation to deal with Jawaun and Fitz!

Cliff Avril and Captain Munnerlyn are on fire for the Lions D - shame the offense has been cryogenically frozen ...............

The New York Giants sit proudly atop the NFC East at 3-1 thanks mainly to HB Ahmad Bradshaw regaining some form. JPP is over-shadowing defensive leader Justin Tuck with 3 sacks and 1 FF. Will the Philly Eagles respond? Newcomers gang of Maclin, Hernandez and Djax have started well and impressive rookie DT Rodney Tubbs has 3 sacks to complement the stout Birds D. The week 11 game between these two old foes will be massive.

Atlanta have had a tough welcome to SML with 2 opening losses but have bounced back with a comprehensive hammering of the 'Bucc slayers' - cpu Panthers. The Georgia Police Department have denied TE Stephen Cole has been electronically tagged as opponents secondaries cannot seem to find him!

The Saints have started well and have one of the league's most potent passing attacks led by Drew Brees - unfortunate they had to face the Vikes and Bears in consecutive weeks! Still a good bet for the playoffs though.

The 9ers new coach has had trouble making the games so far - then when he did get the headphones on he had to endure a loss to the cpu Rams. With the Bolts and Eagles up soon its not getting any easier .......

Last and certainly least - one of last seasons best performers suffered the ignonimity of losing to the cpu Panthers. Step forward Coach Dazinkster, what went wrong? Cam only completed 7 passes but gained 180 yards and 3 td's! Tampa Bay have a tough schedule, so maybe there is some truth in Nyjee Dyer looking for another team ......... Rats and ships eh!!!!

Till next time people - play hard and ignore Afro!
