Aldon SMith - Out for 41 weeks!

All I can say is.... Ouch! 

Raises the question whats the worst injury you've seen in a franchise mode? 

Mine was on madden 13, my housemates QB got a career ending injury first game of the season. Take that Matt Ryan haha.

Wow, Aldon Smith gone for the year really hurts. While I don't wish it on Jimmy it would be cool if Madden took things like that into account the first year after coming back from a serious knee or achilles injury. Players' speed agility should be lowered for the beginning of the year and get better as time goes on. Nobody comes back the same from such a big injury right at the start, except AP who I swear is just cloned like Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 6th Day.

We actually had 2 career-ending injuries to kickers last year in the franchise. Both had broken vertebrae. Somebody was putting a bounty out on kickers, lol.

Ouch! :/

I had Suggs out for 50 something weeks once...

I find it ironic that many of the Bears defenders NEED to be on IR but they just keep playing dammit!

Both Kickers last franchise were from teh Falcons. Maybe bad air in Atlanta.

Poor old Smith! I've not put him on IR yet hoping its a glitch and he comes back next week :-)

In the other franchise I play in I had my star RB injured 1st game of the season for 48 weeks!

I played in both these games so they weren't CPU Sims - just goes to show that you don't just get injuries during SIM games!!!

injuries are a killer in Madden, seems like the better the player the more they go down.
just lost the second best TE in the league for five weeks

just lost Jermaine Gresham for 46 weeks

Ouch!  lost hatcher and Spencer, half of my d line, just before I played the vikings earlier this season, its like it knows lol.

Also just lost my top CB until the end of the season. Sigh!

Ouch indeed, seriously bad time of the year to lose big guys.

Unfortunately that's only a portion of that story. You lost him on your LAST offensive play of the game, as he fumbled on about the five yard line X_X.

I've had various injuries (mostly when games need to be simulated). The most frustrating in recent memory though was probably losing John Abraham and Lamarr Woodley for 4 or 5 weeks last week, AFTER placing Cameron Heyward on IR because he was going to miss 4 or 5 weeks (The rest of the regular season) when I was anticipating having a better pass rush than I have had at any point this season.

46 weeks?! Do their stats suffer from such a long lay off?

I guess I've been lucky only having a couple of problematic injuries - Wake is out till the end of the season after picking up an 8 week injury and Dion Jordan missed about the same earlier in the season.

I'm not sure about what his rating will be next year but I'm not going to get him back till week 8 or 9, hopefully I'll have the division sown up by then

Quick question regarding IR the above mentioned TE is out for another 25 weeks at draft time.
Do i need to put him on IR again?  hes showing up on my roster, i put him on IR last year.
Also what are the protocols for bringing him back once healed?
