SMLE Draft Expert S25 Mock Draft Empty Re: SMLE Draft Expert S25 Mock Draft

Draft Expert Comments:

PickRemarks
1The Bears shopped it for 2 starters and a probowl WR. I do realise by writing the mock and having the No1 pick I'm giving the game away a bit... Lets just say there's a few players in play so it's not fixed...
2The Broncos coach left for personal reasons so the front office is in dissarray, look for them to make their sophemore QB happy with the selection of an LT.
3There's no market for Dalton in the wake of the Wentz and Stafford signings, so the Cardinals look to offer their QB some weapons or protection at least.
4The Packers need to sort their D, their scheme is all over and the secondary has more holes than swiss cheese. There is a huge drop off at CB this draft so expect Robertson to be taken early.
5The Raiders are moving to a full 34 so DE might be off the table. Look for them to buy Carr some time with the selection of a blindside protector.
6The Bucs need to shake up their offense and have needs at most positions on the OL. This is high for a G but Kluwe had an amazing pro day and combine and provides an instant push on OL
7The Colts are in a rebuild, expect them to go electric playmakers and offense a lot!! They signed Wentz so look for this pick to build the mauling OL.
8The Jets lost a DE, a LB but improved at WR in this trade. Look for them to take the leap next season with an amazing freak pass rusher coming off the snap.
9The 49ers had a change in leadership midseason, a change in scheme has the D looking set, so they go offense and Richards becomes the highly dependable 3rd down target.
10The Ravens need a QB to compete with last years rookie. Brian Gomez has the athleticism and better touch but Todd Raymer has the potentially better arm... Gomez wins to meet the coach's style.
11The Patriots don't have many needs. Brady is going out the door so they'll lean on the run game more. Their biggest need is literally a kicker, but Blaise gives the coach a great cover LB in the middle of the field.
12Expect a run on LBs, the Titans don't have many holes but if they fully move to a 4-3 they'll need a pure LB at OLB, in steps Richardson whose a natural tackler and balanced cover2 backer.
13The Giants get lucky with the push of new talent into the Top 10. Raymer is dropping based on an average looking combine, but he can still throw. OBJ is happy and they can address HB later in this very deep class.
14The Texans have to face the long pass game of the Jags twice a year so a full stable of Dbs is required. Skool is a long leaping gazel of a player who'll lock down that deep ball. Class is now in session!
15The Chargers shopped Bosa but found adequate replacement in Fowler in the deal. They still need an upgrade at RE and Dekker seams like a steal dropping out of the Top 10.
16With Brady's and Edelman's retirement the Patriots look to keep the offense running through Walker Quarles. Fast and undersized, perfect for what the Patriots want to do, especially with their new found running game.
17The Chiefs shopped Hill with his contract demands so look for them to find a speedy gadget player with great route running to keep the offense churning.
18The Redskins are moving back to a 34 and in this scenario it's a steal to land the heavy hitting Coleman for the DL. It shores up the D against the Eagles and Cowboys freaky run games and young passers.
19This is a luxury pick for the Bills, they still have Cobb and McCoy but they're building for season 5 with this pick. Rowland has okay moves and okay physicals but McCoy had security issues recently so expect a reduced role.
20The Colts pick again, they solidified the OL and now they find Wentz a weapon that also fits the Ground n Pound style the Colts will bring next season.
21The Dolphins got unlucky with a week 17 injury to their starting QB, if he can stay healthy over a full season then he'll need a threat at TE. Yeast makes his dough at Pick21 and gets the offense cooking!
22The CB class looks poor and the TEs are gone. The Eagles shore the deep pass with the pick of Lynch but they need two... can one suffice?
23Perry Yamini is the safest running back in the draft with great agility and juke moves. The lions needs a QB but they're both gone. Expect them to field a double headed running game and come back for a QB later.
24The Saints need WR help with a fairly empty stable. Dutka comes in as a great No2 option with solid hands and polished route running. Look for their probowl QB to finally achieve his potential this season.
25The Rams have a mishmash on D but a great secondary. They need a QB but theirs not really one available. They shore up their old school run game with the bully G Brady. Pancakes for breakfast!
26The Steelers need to face a heavy run game in the AFC north and so get the young NT Divens here. He's not a polished technician yet but he's got the size and strength to plug the hole.
27The Vikings never really replaced Floyd at DT. Portilla comes in as a 3tech when the Vikings are in a 4man front and shores up an already good D-Line.
28The Chiefs look to fortify last seasons amazing award winning run game and continue to protect the reliable pass game.
29The Bengals traded the fastest WR in the league for a future at QB. Mixon is a beast so Rector comes in as the Go-Route specialist on playaction. Expect the Bengals to be back in the playoffs.
30The Falcons have some needs on OL and at WR. The WR are gone but in comes Witsell as a OT but the combine proved he's undersized and needs to improve his strength so look to shift him inside.
31The Browns traded SS Peppers last season and managed to perform well, their Speed HB reach last draft turned into gold in the first few games alone. So they look to shore up their secondary with the falling Robertson. He's a tad slow but will only play nickel.
32The Cowboys need a TE to replace Witten but they're long gone, they shored up the OL in free agency so Ridley becomes the luxury pick to spell Zeke the Freak.

SMLE Draft Expert S25 Mock Draft Empty Re: SMLE Draft Expert S25 Mock Draft

Post by Mattanite Tue May 15, 2018 11:33 pm

So once again the Bills made everyone wait... Decent draft everyone, fun chat going on and lots of pics!
(The rule is "if you weren't there I wont vote you in")

Anyway, the SMLE Draft Expert awards are as follows:

Best Draft: Bills - I know it's a crapfest putting my own team here and I held off my million pick first draft. The Bills shifted WR Julio Jones and 2 other starters for No1 who's replaced with Quick dev WR Arsenio Waters. HB Jimmy Rowland fell to 12 at the cost of Milano and Cobb but the Superstar HB is an instant starter. They took a punt on QB Matt Grennan who was a nice quick dev QB in the second. FB Dragos and CB Van Noey were lower points but 2 79ovr DTs Swinton and Rowland made up for it. LB Owens replaces Milano in the 4th. Total over = 79q, 82s, 78q, 75, 72, 73, 79, 79, 69

Worst Draft: Falcons - The top 2 picks look okay with 77ovr WR Raymond Dutka and 72ovr DE James Mohamed at Rounds 1 and 2 but the slow dev hurts the draft stock. Not to mention a he shifted Poe mid draft which emptied the stable at DT. Trades for LB Nigel Bradham was decent for the contract put the loss of Deion Jones hurts. Their best value pick arguable came in the 7th round with CB Stuber.

Most likely to Bust: Cowboys - QB Hansen Demulling, he's a good quick dev 70ovr QB but as a 1st round backup behind another 1st round superbowl winning QB Lorig... Unless a devastating injury happens he'll rot on the bench.

Most likely to Boom: Bengals - WR Marshall Rushing is 77ovr, 95 speed, 94 acceleration, 81 release and the Bengals lean heavily on the run game. Rushing is going to be a Play Action go route specialist who will only catch touchdowns with QB Dak Prescott throwing the ball.

Steal of the Draft: Jaguars - DTs Craig Trahan/Bryant Patterson, after having taken a decent superstar DT Patterson (77ovr) in round 2 of the draft, the Jaguars came back in the 7th to take undersized DT LSU prospect Trahan, who turned out to yet another superstar DT (72ovr).

Reach of the Draft: Browns - WR Dosha Bryant, Picked at 31 as a late round pick and 71ovr. Yes he has the catching stats and needs some training up but the 84 acceleration hurts and he's buried behind White, Gordon and Vandervelde.

Solid Pick: Saints - QB Brian Gomez, the Saints endured a tough first draft with Cedric Johnstone but he had a decent second year. Quick dev 78ovr Gomez dropped past a few needy teams and the Saints have a legitimate QB since Bree's retired.

Daring Pick: Cardinals - CB Daniel Robertson 82ovr... So the Cardinals are sat at No3, the Broncos passed on freak superstar LT Patterson which was a huge need for the team. The clock is running out to 10 seconds left and the coach picks a "meh" man cover CB with average combine stats. It turns out he's got 86man, 82zone, 96acc, 91agi, 89spd, 80press as well as 70 catch and tackle and 98 injury!
