Draft Scoop
Hey y'all - are you ready for the draft day extravaganza??
As it would be unfair if i was to impart all of my superior knowledge on this season's draft class (Brza has threatened me by removing my expenses tab at the SML bar) i can give you a few hints and tips that you may find useful.
As you've all probably run out of XP scouting the usual skill positions, and because i have the low down on who the superstars really are its only right that i help the SML coaches - particularly the guys who need it most (doth cap towards San Fran, Buffalo, Minnesota and Chicago).
So, here's a few nuggets of imperious wisdom without giving too much away:-
Very good draft for O linemen - although LT Elliott Prime surprisingly not No.1
No punters (can almost hear the sigh of dismay from Ohio in here)
Secondary class is very average at best, with only 2-3 really top players
Only 1 good kicker
15 players 80+ OVR
21 players with 'star' development tags
4-3 defenses have more talent to choose from than 3-4 D's
Be careful with HB's - you are likely to be disappointed
No monster linebackers - although there are 3 potential stars
There is however one absolute BEAST in this years draft who is rated 2nd top at 84OVR. I wont give any clues as to which position he plays but this guy is one of those players that everyone would trade the earth for (get ready Arizona). He is a truly scary talent - i'm talking Lawrence Taylor, Tom Brady, Darrelle Revis or Jerry Rice type ability.
Plus, my number 2 player (top overall at 86) is also beastly (bit of a freak actually) but i suspect you all know who i'm talking about here - just hope he doesn't go to cpu New England!
And thats all i'm allowed to say without having to spend my own money on my hard earned refreshments. One note of warning though, and i really don't want to scare too many people in to last minute panic trading (cue Oakland) but i will leave you with one final dollop of wisdom, out of the 15 players with OVR 80+, there are only SIX of them slated to go in the 1st round!!!
So there you have it, I cant wait to see who gets that very special talent i mentioned earlier and, even better, ..... who needs to fire their scouting crew. By the way, i have been known to waffle on about rookies when alcohol flows freely - bribes to the usual address please!
Oh yes, and one more teaser - there are 2 Top Ten players slated to go in the 5th round ................... enjoy!

Re: Draft Scoop
Damn, I really wish I knew who these game changers are... I've literally scouted a handful of guys that I like, especially late on (which is promising) but I am not sure I've found that once in a generation guy... There is however one player who, if I was able to make this draft, would go crazy over trying to draft but I doubt he is that guy.
Will you promise to name all these dudes in a post draft recap???

Re: Draft Scoop
I have to say I think this draft class is pretty bad especially at the skill positions, that being said I must be doing something wrong because I certainly haven't found many guys I'm in love with and I have no idea who this mystery player is either.
I did notice a lot of the first rounders are kinda stinky though, gonna be fun tomorrow!

Re: Draft Scoop
Was the premiere guy meant to be Byron Steele? One of the rare 100 PHY guys I've seen, which is extraordinary.
I also just signed my secret WR as a UDFA... talk about winning the draft! hahaha
