NCAA13 Online Dynasty Thread

Hey guys, I know a few of you have the game. Just wondering if there's any demand for a dynasty with us lot?

I'd propose we start as a co-ordinator for 2* teams around the same OVR rating and work our way through the coaching ranks. If there's only 3 or 4 of us then I'd just advance when we've played games as opposed to a fixed schedule (providing it's not too long).

Thoughts?

The controls are exactly the same as Madden 13, and the different passing mechanics are the same that Madden 13 will have. Obviously slightly different plays work and the strategy differs due to the talent differential of teams. But the basics are the same.

It's a good game but has some game breaking freezing/crashing bugs that like to show their head right at the worst possible times and for that reason my enthusiasm for it has all but vanished. I'm just hoping Madden isn't the same...

i played some games and it looks really good at this time. I had no crashes/freezings so far. I play my own online dynasty at the moment ... because i cant play online ... must buy a onlinepass separate ... ridiculous.

You purchased over PSN and it doesn't include the online pass??? It must do surely? With the boxed copy the way it works is you have to use an american PSN account to start up the game and input the pass as it won't work outside the states. Once you've done this it gets synced to your EA origin account which is an EA sports thing or at least thats the only place I've seen it. So you then just start up NCAA on your normal account and log in with your email address from your origin account and as John Madden would say... BOOM! It sounds complicated but it really isn't.

Ah ok ... I undestood something wrong ... I couldnt buy a Season ticket ... Onlineplaying still work

But the New controls for preplay adjustments (defense) are hard to learn for me

Notey, you sure you don't fancy giving it a go? With only 3 people it should advance at a decent rate and will be better than just doing an off-line dynasty on your own

at the moment i play the all-american skill. but we can try to play on heisman. i will test the settings later but i think we can start with your settings. Can we change the settings later in a season?

Which division would we play? Custom Playbooks yes or no?

Actually Daz I am interested again. I'm not rejoining madden until 13 so I would defo be interested. I too play all American but have no problem moving to Heisman, would make it a real challenge. Are we able to use custom playbooks or not?

Cool, I'll use those rosters then. I think the ones I had were pretty similar anyway.

Pick any division team you like, I think we should limit ourselves to starting off at 2* teams with a maximum overall rating of 85. Thoughts? I'll alter the schedule to make sure we play each other if we're not already.

We'll start as co-ordinators, then work our way up the coaching ladder via the coaching carousel.

I'd say yes, feel free to use custom playbooks. But be realistic about it. i.e. don't have loads of spread plays combined with flexbone option plays. It doesn't happen in real life so don't do it here

I have a couple questions though. My offline dynasty I played as OC so only controlled the offense, so if we played each other, would we control offense and defense or just the side coordiwe are coordinator of? If we both were OC's then we actually wouldn't face each other. Second question is during my offline dynasty my d sucked and as OC I had to basically score every possession against the good teams to win. I ended up winning the fiesta bowl but the HC got a massive rep boost and I actually dropped during the offseason. So how do you actually progress to a HC?

Oh and for the Playbook I like to run a pro style offense so its nothing crazy or unrealistic.

I've signed up as the Arkansas Red Wolves OC

- when we play each other you control both sides of the ball
- your rep as an OC is dependant on the goals in your contract. i.e. you can actually lose games but providing you get enough yards/TD's on offense your rep increases
- you get offered HC jobs once your rep/experience is high enough. In NCAA12 in another online dynasty we all got 1* school HC offers after 1 season. But the good HC offers didn't come in for 3-4 seasons

Tbh I wouldn't expect any silly playbook stuff with you guys as you enjoy playing a sim madden league.

I'm liking the read option spread offense in this years game, so just using Ohio States playbook atm. The only thing I'd do if I went custom would be add a couple more plays in, but I don't know what those would be atm so I'll stick with the base one for the moment.

Its my first NCAA game ... so i dont know which playbook is good for my style or not ... at the moment i use the LSU-Playbook ... but my playcalling is not really good ... to often the same plays ... so i would try to create a playbok with formations they a similar to my madden playbook because thats easier for me ... if its ok?!

both of you can take a look into my playbook (if i generate one) to control the plays ... i dont know whats realistic or whats not

Ok thanks Daz. I've joined as UK, so do I just go ahead and set up my recruiting board and redshirt players the same as I would offline? Then we advance once we are all done?

Well all I added was a couple of formations I like from Madden to the UK playbook so it is only lightly modified.

Sorry Ryan, NCAA is pretty new to me too so I don't have much knowledge of differing schools playbooks. All I did is look for a playbook that has similar formations/style to that I use in Madden then just went through it dropping formations or plays that didn't suit my style and adding ones that did. If you are unsure as to what calls to play something I do when a playbook is new to me is use the ask a coach feature and pick something that matches what I want to do and learn the playbook that way. After only a couple of games you should have a decent enough knowledge of it to pick by formation. That's what works for me anyway.

One of the most "madden style" playbooks is probably Stanford. They like classic pro style offense. You'll be fine with whatever plays you choose! Just try and get used to the game
